Isaiah 6:1-7

The prophet Isaiah shares this experience: “It was in the year King Uzziah died that I saw the Lord. He was sitting on a lofty throne, and the train of his robe filled the Temple. Attending him were mighty seraphim, each having six wings. . . . They were calling out to each other, ‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of Heaven’s Armies! The whole earth is filled with his glory!’ Their voices shook the Temple to its foundations, and the entire building was filled with smoke. Then I said, ‘It’s all over! I am doomed, for I am a sinful man. I have filthy lips, and I live among a people with filthy lips. Yet I have seen the King, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.’ Then one of the seraphim flew to me with a burning coal he had taken from the altar with a pair of tongs. He touched my lips with it and said, ‘See, this coal has touched your lips. Now your guilt is removed, and your sins are forgiven’ ” (Isaiah 6:1-7).

Isaiah’s experience took the form of a supernatural vision. At just a glimpse of God’s holiness, he became acutely aware of his own deep need for cleansing. We may never see God as Isaiah did, but we can experience God’s presence in a place of worship. As we develop the habit of worshiping God, we will find growing humility in our lives and a growing desire to have him purify us fully.

2010 Missouri State Rally

Chapter 24 at Missouri State Rally

Chapter 24 at Missouri State Rally

Bill and Fran, Warren and Lois, Dave and Diane, and John and Marilyn attended the 2010 Missouri State Rally in Eureka, MO.

Our purpose was to represent our chapter and to collect information and ideas for holding an Arkansas State Rally sometime soon.

The trip was a great success and lots of fun. It was a 230 mi. ride up to our hotel in Eureka, MO. We had just a few drops of rain, and some welcome cloud cover on the last leg of the run. But overall the day was perfect for riding and our many views of Spring in the Ozarks were breath taking.

Of course we started with waffles and eggs compliments of Warren and Lois. (Thanks guys, it was delicious.) Then we stopped in Rolla for a huge lunch at Dennys. And we had a great buffet dinner at Ponderosa Stake House in Eureka. If you think all we did is eat, check out your map. We rode a couple of hours between each meal!

We arrived at the Rally just as it opened. The setting was perfect, tucked away in the cool woods of the Greensfelder Park, located right beside Six Flags in Eureka. It didn’t take long for the parking lot to fill up with bikes as over 130 attended the rally.

They came from all over Missouri, Illinois, and Arkansas to join together in fellowship, worship and praise for our Lord. There were many events, and vendors to keep us all busy between the snacks, meals and worship times.

Worship

Worship the Lord

Everyone was so gracious and welcoming to us, it felt like we were at a local Chapter meeting. Food, fun, fellowship in the name of the Lord, that’s what makes our ministry possible.

And, of course, we did take some time to rest and recover for the ride home. Like the ride up, our ride back was near perfect. We left after lunch and cruised south  under the bright sun. We stopped in West Plains, at Ryans, for a dinner buffet and refreshing rest. Then into Mountain Home just before dark.

Plant Sale 2010

Plant Sale 2010

Plant Sale 2010

Thanks to Darlene Bearden, we had a very successful plant sale May 8, 2010. The day started out cold and overcast, but he true gardeners came out in support of our effort and we raised over $250 for the Chapter and International. Then the sun came out and everyone warmed up to the idea of a motorcycle plant sale.

We all appreciate the hard work put in by all the volunteers who worked so hard to grow the plants, set up the sale and be there to make it all a great success.

Beliving In The Lord God

The apostle Paul wrote, “You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross. Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names” (Philippians 2:5-9). The author of Hebrews encouraged us to keep “our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne” (Hebrews 12:2).
